Position Overview
To provide Support to depots within the defined region driving a high and consistent standard across the regional locations. Develop a monthly plan in coordination with the depots and Regional Logistics Manager which covers all aspects of regional depot management such as labour planning, team development, H&S Initiatives, and central projects. Support the Depot Manager to coach and develop the Team Leader population to become future leaders within the business. Effectively support the build of a regional network which promotes the importance of a great culture, develops people and delivers excellence in Depot Operations.

Key Responsibilities:







Depot Operations Excellence:
Support the Build of a high performing, engaged and visible team for the region:
  • Identify future leaders in the region within the Team Leader population. Ensure a clear path to Depot Management and beyond is clear and supported within the business.
  • Support the build of the development budget for the region in conjunction with our Learning & Development team.
  • Hold regular 1:1’s with the Depot Management teams to support the Regional Logistics Manager.
  • Engage with colleagues in the depot keeping morale levels high and understanding where improvements can be made. Motivating all staff by coaching and mentoring them through challenges and celebrating success:
Effectively support the regional depot to excellent standards in the following areas:
  • Team Development
  • Health & Safety
  • Customer Services
  • Financial Control
  • Human Resources Operations
  • Continuous Improvement plans
Monthly Resource Planning:Build an effective monthly plan which is clear for all, signed off by the Regional Head of Logistics and measured for success:
  • Champion the Regional Health and Safety strategy on nightshift ensuring that monthly meetings are in place, audits and proactive observations are being recorded, Safety Champions are working as a regional team and that any major issues are reported in a professional manner to Dayshift teams.
  • Develop a regional Labour model to provide flexibility for deliveries and support the reduction in absences and leavers.
  • Work in conjunction with the depot managers and the central route planning team to ensure work levels are manageable for each depot.
  • Participate in Strategic Initiatives with colleagues in central functions such as HR Operations, Finance, IT etc.
Key Experience, Knowledge and SkillsExperience
  • Demonstrable Leadership Experience in a multi-site Logistics Operation.
  • Background in dairy, food or drinks distribution preferred.

Knowledge
  • Health and Safety Leadership (IOSH)
  • Logistics Certification desired
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Applications
